How much does it cost?
CakeBoss is available for the purchase price of $149.00(USD).
Do I have to pay a yearly fee?
No! Once you purchase CakeBoss, it is yours forever with no additional required fees or service contracts.
What if you publish a new version?
Upgrades and future versions of CakeBoss may be offered to current users for a fee.
What is the Installation CD? If I buy it for $20.00, do I still have to pay
the $149.00?
CakeBoss is designed to be distributed via download from our servers. However,
we offer the installation CD as a way for users to install CakeBoss without being
on the internet. The cost of the CD is $20.00. This is in addition to the cost
of the license for the software, which is $149.00.
Do I have to have an internet connection to run CakeBoss?
No. However, an internet connection is required to receive updates, so just make
sure to connect to the internet every few weeks to check for updates!
What if I buy CakeBoss, but then decide I can't use it?
We think you're going to love CakeBoss, but we offer a full refund within 30 days
of purchase if you decide it's not for you - no questions asked!
Is CakeBoss hard to use? I don't know anything about computers.
CakeBoss is extremely intuitive and user friendly. There is no manual to read
before you get started. You will be entering your customers, orders, and recipes
within minutes of downloading. We provide online
"How-To" videos to help you start out, and we are always available by email to answer questions.
We are cake decorators too, and we listen to and care about our users!
Is CakeBoss accounting software?
Not in the traditional sense. CakeBoss is a unique organizational and
pricing software designed to help home bakers get organized, track their costs and
profits, and price their goods accurately. CakeBoss's recipe costing, pricing, organizational,
and calendar features are custom-tailored to the home baker, and simply are not
found in traditional accounting software.

Where is the information I enter into CakeBoss stored? It's important to me
to keep my customer information and recipes secure and confidential.
Everything you enter into CakeBoss is stored on your computer's hard drive.
I calculate my recipes in grams/kilos instead of cups and ounces. Will CakeBoss
work for me?
Yes! CakeBoss2010 comes pre-loaded with standard imperial and metric measurement conversions.
I have a cookie/candy business. Will CakeBoss work for me?
Although CakeBoss was designed with cakes in mind, it can work for any type of food business. We offer a 30-day money back guarantee, so if you try CakeBoss
and it doesn't suit the needs of your business, we will refund your purchase price
within 30 days - no questions asked!
I am not a home baker, I have a shop. Will CakeBoss work for my business?
Although CakeBoss was designed for the home baker, we have users who are shop owners
who have been greatly helped by CakeBoss's recipe costing, pricing, and calendaring
features. However, CakeBoss does not duplicate the functions of traditional
accounting software.
Will CakeBoss work on my Mac?
No. CakeBoss is a Windows-based program, designed to be run on a PC.
However, we have had some success with Mac users installing CakeBoss on a Mac running
Windows inside an emulator such as Parallels or VM Fusion.
I have more than one computer - how many computers can I install CakeBoss on?
CakeBoss is intended to be a single-user application, and may be installed on up
to two computers with one license. Additional licenses must be purchased for use on more than two computers.
I want both computers to have the same information on them, how do I do that?
It is possible to make a backup of your CakeBoss data file and move it to
another computer. However, CakeBoss is not a networked application, so information
you enter is only entered into one computer at a time.
What if I have a hard drive crash or get a new computer? Will I
have to buy CakeBoss all over again?
Absolutely not. Once you purchase CakeBoss, you own the license permanently.
We would never require you to re-purchase just to install on a new computer.
Just email us so we can activate your license for another installation!
I live outside the U.S. - will CakeBoss work with my currency?
Yes! CakeBoss uses the currency you have set in your Windows control panel.
Is CakeBoss available in other languages besides English?
At this time CakeBoss is only available in English.
Didn't it used to cost $99.00? What happened to that version?
The original 2007 version of CakeBoss was $99.
It has now been retired.
